Guyana: Country Background

 

Home just under 1 million people, Guyana is located on the Caribbean coast of South America. Approximately 12,000 individuals are estimated to be living with HIV.AIDS. Thanks to increased funding through PEPFAR and other agencies, antiretroviral rollout has resulted in an estimated 2,000 people are receiving ARV treatment as of September 2007.
